The certification of “Noto Satoyama-Satoumi” as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System (GIAHS) by FAO is approaching its fifth anniversary, and the revision of the action plan has been undertaken. Reflecting on the progress and various initiatives that have taken place over the past years, we look forward to the next five years.
We are welcoming Dr. Kazuhiko Takeuchi, Senior Vice-Rector of the United Nations University, who has been deeply involved in the launch of the Global Agricultural Heritage System. He will speak about the history of the Global Agricultural Heritage initiative, its future outlook, and the potential of Noto Satoyama-Satoumi.
In the panel discussion, we will explain the newly revised action plan and engage in an exchange of opinions with participants from various fields, aiming to utilize the Global Agricultural Heritage as a regional platform.
