This workshop was the kickoff event for the educational materials for elementary school children that the OUIK was commissioned to produce by the Noto GIAHS Promotion Council. Educational practitioners and experts came together at the Ishikawa Forest Research Institute to discuss educational matters for children in the Noto region.
In order to break the initial tension in the room, a brief game was played as an icebreaker before participants moved on to the core of the event’s agenda on childhood education.
First, some initial thoughts on a booklet project entitled “SDGs Mitsui No Gotsuo Project” were shared, followed by a presentation on an interactive cooking and calculating game for children entitled “GEMS”. Finally, a group discussion on important issues for the future of childhood education in the Noto region was held.
