On July 20 and 21, 2022, the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) hosted a side event titled “Multi-stakeholder Partnerships & Local Action” as part of the Third Global Conference on Strengthening Synergies Between the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda For Sustainable Development
During this event, participants discussed collaboration among diverse stakeholders in activities related to climate change and the promotion of SDGs at the local level, as well as the challenges and opportunities for youth participation. Speakers from United Nations organizations, academia, civil society, youth, and local communities gathered to share good practices.
The session was moderated by Tsuneo Watanabe, Director of UNU-OUIK. Presentations were given by Takashi Murayama (Mayor of Kanazawa City, Japan), Taizo Hayashi (President, Junior Chamber International Kanazawa), and Aida Mamadou (Associate Professor, Kanazawa University), each introducing their activities in collaboration with various stakeholders.
