Kanazawa, which developed as a castle town, is home to numerous historic Japanese gardens that promote biodiversity, recreate natural landscapes, and provide us with soothing spaces. While these gardens require regular maintenance, many are not properly cared for due to the aging of their owners and a shortage of skilled workers.
In this second installment of the video series, we focus on the lives of artisans in Kanazawa and the urban environment surrounding them. Through the daily lives of these artisans, we gain insight into how local biodiversity influences culture and the ways in which humans and nature support one another.
