UNU-IAS is pleased to announce that FISH BOY – Sakana-kun has been appointed as a Visiting Research Fellow. Through his extensive knowledge of fish and many years of educational and outreach activities, he has helped countless people understand the importance of aquatic life and the natural environment in both marine and freshwater ecosystems.
In this role he will contribute his knowledge and experience to initiatives by the UNU-IAS OUIK focused on sustainable recovery of the Noto Peninsula in Japan — as well as to research, education, and outreach activities related to biodiversity, Satoyama and Satoumi landscapes, and environmental education.
